Yesterday I heard from Ron that my guitar was just a few weeks from being done, and he sent me this beautiful picture. After being jealous of other such threads for so long, I'm really happy to be able to post this picture! The wood is paulownia with a clear amber finish.

Thanks! Finally an instrument worthy of my skill :-)
@iim7v7im7 - it's Paulownia, not alder.

Should be very light in weight and soft

I have a Paulownia partscaster that I like, and it is incredibly light. It's true that the wood is soft. I was advised (by Ron actually!) to rout out the area beneath the bridge and glue in a block of harder wood. This was the result of my request for help after the two trem ferrules starting to come out :-( However, once I did what Ron suggested, I had no problems.
