Looking for a set of plans for a 5 string Tele-styled mandocaster.

Seems I have seen some, but so far, have not searched any out.

Can anybody help a brother?

I know I've seen one somewhere.

Do a search on this site for a thread called something like "printable template pdf". In it are several posts that have pdf files or links that take you to sites that have a list of pdf blueprints and somewhere in there is a mandocaster plan.

Word of warning, you'll probably spend days downloading guitar plans that you might not ever have an urge to build but it's cool to have them.

That's about the best I can do.

Here ya' go Buck LINK (http://www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-home-depot/157004-printable-guitar-template-pdf.html). To be honest, the only tele-shaped mandocasters I've seen were from the Saga kit and this one LINK (http://www.moongazermusic.com/mo4elmakit1.html). There has to be a drawing somewhere
Here is a std mandocaster build, in an unlikely place LINK (http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/luthiers-corner/181985-mandocaster-build.html). Eastwood makes an 8 string that looks like a tele. There are some good pics here LINK (http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=31492). "Big Print" a program I bought about a yr ago, can be used to turn photos into templates. You can get it here LINK (http://woodgears.ca/bigprint/about.html). He has an eval version you can kick the tires on before buying anything.
I think that's all I know..........:lol::lol:

Thanks guys.

So far "no joy"...

That Eastwood looks interesting.

Maybe I will order one up, use it to make a template, then unload it on the 'Bay.

+ 1 on the Big Print program. It'll cost you a lot less than buying that Eastwood, and can be used for any guitar shape you can find a picture to print. It works off a known measurement like the fret scale and prints everything else in proportion to that scale. Pretty easy to use. Only down side for me was that it's PC only. My better printer is set up with my Mac, so I had to print it thru my network.

Well worth the $ 22

Is it going to sparkle steve? Haha I have no plans but Joe Glaser made a 5 string for Ricky Scaggs back in the day B BENDER also, quite cool! Skip ahead to 2:00 for the mandocaster or better yet watch the whole video for some other great tele picking from someone else you may recognize...

To me, the one Joe built looks more like what I would picture as a tele mando. Much more Teleish... Hope this helps some, not sure if you could get in touch with joe or not but he may help.

Now, i know this is for a 4 string, but knowing your ingenuity and resourcefulness I am certain you can figure out a way to accomplish the task

for a pickup, and angled split rail might just be the ticket

Try to contact Joe Glazer. He's a very nice guy, and he's the one who gave me the mini strat body that got me started on this wild trip. He's here in Nashville, last I heard he's over at Corner Music in Hillsboro Village.

I just stumbled across a folder on my HD called "Mandocaster."

Guess what I found in it!

Going to go wipe the egg off my face now...
