Got one incoming for a good price.

Maybe it'll bump up this thread.

Plan on some mods, I'm thinking faux- Mustang or faux- Musicmaster;-)

Arrived looking like this

Decided to turn it into a Musicmaster style guitar, in appreciation of an old Musicmaster I had years ago, and wish I still did.

Took a red torty pickguard blank and using a scroll saw and a set of files, I shaped it to fit. I had a nice single coil sized Hotrail looking for a home, so I put it in there, but put it in the neck slot. I had strung up the guitar without the pickguard, and found the optimum position for the pickup beforehand, which as it turned out was the same position as a Musicmaster almost.

I spend much of my playing these days on neck pickups, so this seemed to suit

Nice little guitar, very comfy to play and with the simple set up, very rewarding too. The Hotrail is pretty high output though, it tends to drive the amp a bit more than I really need, so the original pickup might go back in, or I'll look for a tasty lone Strat pickup.

I even had enough red torty material to make a spare red guard for my other single pickup guitar;-)
