I have a body with a rear rout for the controls. Body is 1.75" thick and the rout is 1.5" deep leaving .25" of wood. Do I need long shaft pots?

Long shaft pots needed for rear rout?SixShooter June 25th, 2012, 06:10 PM I have a body with a rear rout for the controls. Body is 1.75" thick and the rout is 1.5" deep leaving .25" of wood. If it's a scant quarter or more like 3/8 you can probably get away with standard. glen smith June 26th, 2012, 11:32 AM If you haven't yet drilled the pot shaft holes you can use a small (1/16") drill bit to drill through where you want to place the pots then on the inside you can use those small holes to guide a forstner bit and drill out a bit of wood so the standard shaft length pots will fit. Good idea. I haven't drilled them yet. |
