I got the chance to see them and given their rate of visiting Europe (last time was 1987) I figured I just had to go.
Glad I did! Decent opening band (Jonathan Wilson), plenty of Tele action, and two guest performances of Eddie Vedder. What a treat!
Some clips (not mine... ;-) )

Of all the classic rockers with high ticket prices, Tommy petty is always a sure thing or pure entertainment value. You know exactly what you're gonna get: hit song after hit song after hit song. As an added bonus, it's usually like a vintage guitar convention on stage as well.
I hate big concerts, but I'll make an exception for Paul McCartney and Tom Petty.

It was not as expensive as it would have been in Switzerland (I heard a ticket was 110 euros there), but still the highest priced gig I ever been to...
They played hit song after hit song, but also a few not so high profile songs, plus two songs of the last album Mojo.
Also Tom's voice is great, he still manages to sing very powerful in the higher registers.
A friend of mine who was at the Tom Petty gig went to see McCartney last year; he said it was very very good.
