String Tree
June 24th, 2012, 06:00 PM
Played a Duo with a friend Thursday night.
Dinner set 7 - 9pm.
Went great, everything fell together, a splendid time was had by all.
One of the highlights was having our singing Bartender get up there with us.
She will never be confused with any of this towns greatest singers, but she knows how to bring the fun!
To warm her up, we had her do a Kazoo solo during Ain't Misbehavin'.
Then, she and I did John Prine's In Spite of Our Selves (she is Married, a Grandmother and, Mrs String Tree was there). She finished with Melanies Brand New Key.
Before we started, I noticed that a 'Comfy chair' was the perfect size to hold the 30 watt Kustom I was using that night. It isn't mine, my partner lets me use it. He has one just like it, but 50 watts instead of 30. I could point it in any direction I wanted with very little time of effort.
Comfy Amp stands on wheels?
No house should be without one!
Gearheads: I plug my SM58 in to one channel and either my Mid-90's MIM Tele or, my Danelectro Baritone in to the other. No effects except a smattering of Chorus and Reverb from the amp.
My partner plays an early 90's Guild (Model unknown) and, sings through a SM58 too.
His Guild is beat-up, battered and, busted. But it plays like a dream come true.
Easy to set-up, easy to tear down, and is easy to keep the Volume low enough so's not to knock the Taters of peoples Forks while they eat.
