Thanks for doing that.
You have a terrific teaching manner, do you have more lessons?
Nice gear too, btw!

Right on!

Try the 2nd pickup position on the Strat (bridge/middle) to get closer to the "sound".

I used to think that it was exactly like you played it on the record, and it mostly is. The only thing I learned much later, when I finally gave it a close, critical listen is that slide from the B down to the open E is NOT on the record. He only plays the B at the second fret of the A string pulls off down to the 1st fret, then open, then hits the low E. Give it a listen. I think you'll agree.

I think it's straight bridge with treble boost. Doesn't sound quacky to me, just real bitey and trebly. You could be right, though.

On the original, the arpeggiated/raked F#m and Am sounds very Strat "quacky" to me. Then just add a Vox amp with top boost and some guitar fret buzz.

I agree that the recorded version does sound like a middle/bridge quack, but to get the level of chime/jangle to match the original I found that my bridge pickup sounded closest.

I also went back and forth on the ending slide from B -- E. I have seen it tabbed both ways (the way I showed it and as described by jb above). Play it as you hear it.

And yes, there are dozens more lessons on my YouTube channel linked below.

Thanks again for all the great feedback!

Hoodster, I respect what you are trying to do and you do put a lot of effort into your lessons, but it isn't a matter of how different people tab a song differently. It's what's on the record. I am much less concerned about the pickup selection than how the artist actually played the guitar parts. They might have played 7>6>5 on the E string, but it wasn't a slide all the way down to open. You can hear three notes.
