Pretty in Pink

Decided to refinish the MIM '69 Thinline I bought for $100 a few months ago. It was a disgusting pile of bacteria when I picked it up. Nasty grunge everywhere, warped pickguard, effed up headstock. Cleaned it up. Thought Shell pink would be nice. Reranch nitro and did the neck also. Decided on satin clear coat and buffed it up to a nice low sheen. Only thing I changed were the pickguard and bridge plate screws $4. Total of $125 invested. Yes, I am sure there are some who love the mahogany but it was not for me...before and after...

Wow, amazing deal!

I think that thinlines look great in pastels. I have a thinline body in the project line-up that will be in sonic blue or surf green and double bound. Your pic makes me want to move it up in priority.

Personally, I'd have left it "in the mahogany". But you did a hullava job on the pink, too. Thinline for $100 and $25 of upgrades! Excellent deal in anybody's book. Nice work!
