Fralin Blues Special vs SD Hot Lead

Has anyone compared these? I'm looking for a hotter lead pickup that has a vintage sound when played clean. Any recommendations?

I'm using an SD Broadcaster now - too nasily and is more difficult to get a good ragged sound with my Classic 30.

I can only half-answer your question, as I haven't played a Tele with a Fralin Blues Special lead. However, I love the SD Hot Tele lead (STL-2). It's full and fat sounding, has enough output to keep up with a vintage output PAF neck pickup, and can be had as a tapped model if you want to retain a vintage output option. I play blues and rock material rather than country, so YMMV; but if you want a hotter and fatter sounding Tele lead pickup that still sounds like a Tele lead pickup, then I heartily recommend the STL-2 tapped or standard.
