Replacement Tuners for Memphis Guitar

How should I go about finding replacement tuners? These have more space between the tuning pegs than my Fender in-a-line tuners, of course these are on-a-plate but I'm curious if there is something I should be measuring to track down a set of tuners to replace these since they are not working?

Go with Grover mini roto-matics. They should fit just fine. You will have to plug old holes and drill new, but it should work out ok. I put a set on an old Memphis I had and I loved them.

Any modern made tuner will be an upgrade. If you're chasing tuning issues, check out the nut.

I'd be willing to bet that the Klusons or Gotohs six-on-plate would fit OK. Holes might even line-up and those that don't won't be seen. You'll get the Saf-t-Posts in the deal.

Now that you mention it, I noticed the E not aligned over the pick up the other day. Today, I looked over the rest of the strings (straight on, not at an angle), it seems the nut is causing the strings (which come out of the tremolo and line up over the bridge pole pieces) to not line up over the neck pole pieces.

I wouldnt get into re-drilling, I would just get a set of Pings or others that bolt right up.

Not to me...it looks like the pickup may be placed wrong. Check more. Memphis did make some good guitars in the 70s, but mostly, not so much. Especially after that.
