Traded my Billm modded Blues Junior for this Fender MIK Special Edition Lite Ash Strat. The guy also threw in a loaded pickguard with Seymour Duncan California 50's and 7 way switching. I think I'll drop that in when I change the Strings. I like the pups that are in there now, but they seem more suited to harder rock. That's just my opinion though. I love the birdseye maple neck. The guitar has been hardtailed, but that's cool. Makes it different from my other Strat. Anybody have any experience with the Duncan California 50's ? Just wondering how they differ from the stock pups.

The pots in those are 500k. Many people find that putting more traditional 250k or even 300k pots in there tames the beast and makes the stock pickups completely usable. Just something you might want to try before spending money that you might not have to.

Ps. Congrats on the guitar. I like those, and I suspect it will hold it's value far longer than the amp would have.

I wouldn't have to spend any money. He gave me a loaded pickguard. I can install it myself.

Let me know if you'd like to sell me the original blackguard with Seymour Duncans in it. If it's all original, I'll gladly pay $50 plus shipping.

Sorry, even if I drop the other pickguard in I don't want to sell the original one. I need to keep this Strat all original, it's a limited addition. I actualy saw a loaded body on Ebay for $380 or something like that. I also saw a whole guitar for $500. I realy don't think this Strat is worth that much, but that's what people are asking for it.

I took mine and pulled the pickguard and pickups out as I liked them but was not totally happy with then and then installed a set of Lace Sensor red/blue/silver in it on a white pearl pickguard and now love this guitar, plays great, looks great and sounds great, to me at least and thats what counts.

I dropped the other pickguard in last night. The guitar looks better in my opinion, and it sounds better too. There is one problem though. The neck pickup has very low output, it's barely making sound yet I do hear it coming through the amp. Could this be a wiring problem ? EVerything else sounds great though, I like the 7-way switching.

Anyone who wants to sell me the stock MIK Seymour Duncan pickups from their Lite Ash Strat, PM me... I like the stock pickups, they work just fine for me.
