Telecaster Neck Pickup Identification [Archive]

:shock:This one is a doozy.

I have three Fender telecaster neck pickups. I know they are Fender, but I have no idea what type.

They came from a guy I know who used to work at the shop in Corona, then Fullerton. He stopped working there in the late 90s, and by that time had amassed a drawer full of misc. telecaster parts. Bridges, plates, tuners, pickups etc....

Now I have three neck pickups from this drawer. :cool: But he doesn't know/remember what type they are.

They are the exact size, shape and cover as the neck pickup on my American tele.
But there are no identifying marks on any of them. No serial number, no sticker, no date stamping , no nothing.

They each have one black, one white wire ( no help there?). The wires and coil have a thin layer of wax on them, so "wax potted", yes?

The color of wire coiled under the lipstick cover is Dark Brown/ maybe dull, dull purple. NOT bright copper red like, well copper wire pickups.

Any ideas? Are they just regular good old 1980s/90s american tele neck pickups?
