:wink:Well, it's not a Tele...

Others will know from the body shape and such, but to me it looks as if the headstock has a wavy tip, an inlay in the middle, and a name that's shaped like "Gibson." But what do I know?

It's a fun mystery, anyway. Good luck!

Just a WAG, but from what the headstock appears to look like, and the trim package, it appears to be a Martin, O series. Probably OO or OOO with the 42 trim pkg, wide binding, no purfling (or thin black purfling) and mostly dots, maybe a headstock inlay. The 35 has thinner binding and the 45 has the MOP purfling and bound fretboard. Might be a Harmony or Regal, but I doubt it, more likely a Lyon Bros if it's not a Martin. But what do I know

Dave

PS, I'd run it by Rick Turner or George Gruhn

Not a Martin, nor does it look like a gibson. I'm going to say its a Chicago made jumbo: could be anything from a harmony to a Larson brothers. Do you have any more pics?

No. No I can't...

On another note, who is the guy? Is this a family member or just a random old photo?

Wish I could help. I have a similar picture of my grandfather playing. Fortunately he passed all his guitars down to my Dad so identification was a breeze. Good luck.

It says it is his grandfather in the first post.

I really appreciate the input guys. Unfortunately thats the only picture I have of his guitar. It was passed down to family and it has been lost, or sold, or traded, or stolen...lol Anyway, it is a cool pic and I knew some of you guys would be able to help. I sure would like to have had it though and Im sure he would have given it to me since im the only grandson who plays. Thanks a lot guys

Oh... I guess I need to go to the Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good.
