I recently purchased Squire '62 Custom RI, which I am pretty happy with but as good as this guitar is, it is obviously outclassed by my 3 other Teles: a A '62amri, a Parsons/Green American Series B-Bender and a CS Nocaster. I have been thinking of possible upgrades to improve the guitar and bring it up to snuff, so to speak. My first idea is to replace the bridge with either a Callahan or a Babzic Full Contact to improve sustain. I was also in a very fancy guitar store in the San Fernando Valley the other day and one guy suggested swapping out the caps and putting in 47s. Switching out pickups is another avenue but a bit more than I want to spend at the moment, as it is in the middle position, the neck pickup is a bit louder than the bridge but I plan on tweaking the pickup heights to see if I can get them better balanced which shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have considered opinions regarding bridge, caps, hardware, pickup upgrades, they would care to weight in with?

I think the hardware is fine, no real reason to change it. The pickups are pretty bright, swapping them a set of Tonerider Hot Classics would be an upgrade that would make sense cost-wise.

You are talking a CVC? I have one + an AV62 Custom & I'd simply put in a meatier bridge pup (about anything is 'meatier' IMO), adjust pup height etc and play it.
My replacement pup cost $25 shipped.

Yes, it is a Classic Vibe Custom and I agree with you that the stock bridge pickup sounds a little thin. Which pickup did you put in yours?

Got mine used here from a member. It's a Texas Tele bridge pup I think (not a Texas Special).

It's a Texas Tele bridge pup I think (not a Texas Special). I'm not even sure on that. Put an ad here on "Pickups Wanted" classified and ask for a hotter bridge pup. That's what I did. Or just try a couple of cheaper ones.
Easy easy fix for that guitar. Made mine a rock machine.
