tele 4-way alternate wiring

Is there a way to wire a 4-way switch so I get P1=neck, P2=both parallel, P3= both in series, P4=bridge?
on page 263 of Dan Erlewine's Gtr Player Repair Guide it shows a 4-way with this config but after comparing this to the standard 4-way wiring with where p2=neck, I'm wondering if his diagram is labelled incorrectly.

I'd just like the "both" pickup options to be in the center two positions of the switch.

thanks

There is for sure. i haven't got a link though, someone else will chime in I'm sure. I've only done the conventional 4 way set up.

I found this link with tons of schematics including the alternate 4-way.
Also thanks to Rob DiStefano for sending me a schem as well.

I wired up my Blackguard clone and used the alternate 4 way wiring with neck and bridge being the outermost positions. Worked like a charm. The series position is awesome - sounds fat like a neck humbucker.

I thought I might like it in that configuration. But with the standard 4way wiring I always know, on the fly, where the series position is. There's no guess work. I may use two or three tone positions during one song.

But, what ever works for you. That's what it's all about.

+1 with spudcasater. I like the orignal 4-way wiring that yields the normal Tele sounds...bridge on 1, both in parallel on 2, neck on 3 and both in series on 4.
(Yes, Leo named these positions with 1 being the position to the back....toward the butt/bridge of the guitar. I am old school this way.)

yeah I wasn't sure how much I'd use the series option. I like it but I use the neck and bridge by themselves way more so to me they are in the original positions when the switch is at the outer position.
I have a tapped Antiquity in the rear on a push pull on the tone control and i'm using the hell out of that! Total 50's tele sound and more of hot P90 tone when tapped.
