Matchless Syle Baffle Board

Anyone have any thoughts on how to build this style baffle board?

Is the grill cloth along to the top seam just magically held in place by pressing in the piping? I've considered making this style with two separate pieces of wood - one for the speaker grille and one for the top section, but just wondering if anyone knows about how these get made.

That's exactly it. The molding is a t-molding and the pressure holds the grille cloth. You can also use a piece of string or wire and put a flat molding over it. Less expensive that way.

Do you know where one would acquire such a piece?

Northcoast music sells Vox replacement parts.They'll have it.

Seems they only have it in gold...

Not sure if that's black or chrome in the photo. Suzo-Happ has both http://na.suzohapp.com/amusement/acesor/49099900.htm. Vox is 5/8, I'd assume matchless is the same?
