I just ordered a BYO Guitar Custom shop Tele for my son and I to finish and put together. Going to look at the grain in the body and decide on blonde or clear finish. Been reading threads and had to join.
Read Keith's 'Life' and was inspired to own a tele, although I'll likely not try the 5 string open tuning for a while yet. Figure you should be decent at standard tuning first. :)
