Tele-Hum

Hey, I've seen really similiar posts on this site, but nothing that quite lines up with my situation. Recently my squier tele developed a serious hum. Like a hum that competes with the volume of the guitar. Now I've seen a bunch of people ask, "does the hum go away if you touch something metal?" No! mine gets louder and more powerful. Could this just be a resoldering job? I don't want to upgrade pick ups because this guitar has more bite than growl. Are the pick ups too hot? Has anyone had this experience?

Are the pick ups too hot?
If the problem is recent then it shouldn't be because the pickups are "too hot".
