Halbert June 15th, 2012, 10:37 PM Hey guys. I thought I would like to check out your Telecaster forum. My very first good electric guitar was a '77 blond Tele. I had it back in the late '70s and parted with it in 1981. I did get to see it again recently. Unfortunately, the finish had been removed and replaced with a simple clear coat. But it was good to see it was still in the hands of the person I had sold it to all those years ago and despite the altered finish it was still in very good shape.
Now I'm looking around for a new (to me) tele to add to the family.

Halbert June 25th, 2012, 04:17 PM Belated thanks! I have found what appears to be an excellent Tele to adopt. I am sacrificing one guitar in this endeavor; the MIM Strat has to go. I have attempted to make it right with my conscience though by doing a good thing. So, the old black Strat is going to a NYC school. I think that is much less trouble than selling the old girl and only getting a fraction of its worth.
Jack S June 25th, 2012, 04:22 PM No worries, you are getting rid of a common guitar and replacing it with a beautiful form of primitive art.

idjster July 3rd, 2012, 01:22 PM Ah! Welcome and congratulations! Things sometimes happen pretty fast, don't they? You go from thinking to looking to adopting in a fast order!
rebelwoclue July 3rd, 2012, 02:41 PM Congrats!
Halbert July 4th, 2012, 11:51 AM Thanks again! I have been playing it all I can since I got it home. It has helped ease my Rickenbackeritis a little ( though I'm afraid that is a chronic condition for which there is no real cure.)
It is a 60th Anniversary model BTW. It plays smoother than I remember my 1976 model playing, though it has been 30 years since I played that one.
Just now I have been jamming to "Bodhisattva" by Steely Dan.
