Shielding on a new MIM

Hey everyone,

I just got me a new MIM standard and I've noticed that shielding doesn't seem to be too effective. I've only opened up the control plate but I saw the shielding ground hooked up but it is pretty noisy. Does Anyone out there who has worked on theirs have a recommendations for the best way to get shielding up to par? It seems over kill to buy a complete foil kit when they have already painted it.

It's adequate for many of us, though you could order/install the copper foil.

+1, I ordered off Ebay enough to do my entire guitar for $1.99

I had the same experience as you.

I'm shielding both PU cavities, the Control cavity, and Pickgaurd. I also ran a ground wire to the Neck PU cavity and anchored it there, and ran a ground to the bridge.

My MIM was much noisier than my CV Tele, which I also shielded.

Ok I think I might get some copper and go over the whole thing, I was blown away how much quieter my old squier strat is that I had copper shielded than my new Tele.
