NeckP90 June 15th, 2012, 05:36 AM I'm now starting a project not on a tele for the first time and I'm stuck in unfamiliar wiring land! Basically I'm converting a Yamaha strat into a rickenbacker 325 look-alike. So I want to switch three pickups with a gibson-style toggle switch rather than a Fender-style blade.
Q1: Is this possible?
Q2: I keep reading about special toggle switches that allow me to do this, with eg neck, neck and middle, bridge switching. But I can't seem to find any!
I also want to use three controls, master vol, master treble bleed and master bass bleed. Anyone ever seen a circuit diagram for something like this? I don't know enough about electronics to do one myself (clearly!).
Thanks for any help!
Simon
Phostenix June 15th, 2012, 12:44 PM I think I can make that work. I'll draw it up later today.

I think I've seen another that's smaller, but don't remember where.

I was thinking of the standard type of 3-way toggle. I don't have a Visio part for the On-On-On right angle Gibson style 3-way. Hmmm.
Anyway, here are a couple of links to the type of 3-way I had in mind when I made the drawings.

I also made a 2nd version that has the common Les Paul 3 pickup choices (the middle position is the Middle & Bridge pups together).

That's a solid looking switch, and the chrome would look nice. Is it full size, or mini?
Phostenix June 15th, 2012, 06:28 PM It's mini underneath, but the toggle looks like a full size switch. I think it is typically used on tube amps as the Off-Standby-On power switch.
A mini 3-way On-On-On toggle would work, too. But, I thiink a mini would be a little weird to switch on the fly while playing.
NeckP90 June 16th, 2012, 03:46 PM I am flabbergasted (to use a good old english word)! Absolutely fantastic, THANKYOU SOOOO MUCH!

NeckP90 June 16th, 2012, 03:51 PM Looking at the diagrams, two questions:
1: what does ccw stand for?
2: the pickups I'm using are humbuckers so should I use 500k pots for the vol and treb bleed?
Cheers!

Ha ha. That's anti clockwise in the Queen's English.
