Hi guys, i've bought a road worn tele recently and the only thing bothers me is that the bridge pickup sounds too mudy to me.

Here's an 1968 tele video and it's sound is almost the best i've ever heard.

Could you advise what bridge pickup is most close to the tele sound in this video? Maybe fender original vintage or twang king?

I just bought a used '50s Esquire with a Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue bridge pick-up. It sounds great - full with twang, but not piercing - really nice! I also like the Fender Nocasters...

Tks man. I wonder how about fender original vintage pickup, because it's easier to buy in China..

I don't understand how the stock RW bridge pickup can be "muddy." Those are pretty bright pickups. For that sixties sound you might try the "62 Tele Custom" bridge pickup: http://angela.com/fenderusa62telecustomtelecasterbridgepickup.aspx

Hope this helps.

Howdy,

Consider DiMarzio's under-priced Twang Kings. I've a set in my Mahogany Tele and they aren't coming out! Great cleans and equally good for Exiles on Main street tones. Good luck.
