csadams5 June 13th, 2012, 12:26 PM Has anyone had any experience with the new FSR Thinline Jaguar? I am looking at them and would like to know what the word on the street is.
Here is a link to the Pro Guitar Shop page about it:

refin June 13th, 2012, 12:36 PM Now THAT'S cool.
pavlovsdog June 13th, 2012, 12:43 PM I have the three tone sunburst one. It arrived in tune, set up, and plays great. I have a few CIJ jaguars and they have really comfortable necks. The only thing I'm going to change on it is to put a Mastery Bridge in - although the stock bridge isn't as a bad as some other Jaguars I own.
csadams5 June 13th, 2012, 12:49 PM How does the 3ts look in person? The pics I've seen didn't do it for me, and I love sunburst.
Blazer June 13th, 2012, 01:06 PM Yeah that's a cool guitar.
pavlovsdog June 13th, 2012, 01:16 PM For someone who collects Jaguars and 3ts usually being a deal breaker, I'm really stoked about it. The binding really changed the look. I'll see if I can take pictures of it sometime in the future.
The only thing that I've had to get used to playing it is that it has no tummy cuts or contours, so the body is more 'box-ish'. So it affects my picking hands placement and I sometimes roll the tone knobs.
Also, proguitarshop is awesome. Used a coupon from their mailing list to get $250 off, no sales tax, and free shipping. Emailed them and got a personal response within the day. My only complaint is they don't have a brick and mortar shop in L.A.
Blazer June 13th, 2012, 01:27 PM I wonder in what way the Koll custom Thinline guitars of Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth were an influence.

Considering they are MIJ's and Fender Japan's record for creating numerous artist signature/or inspired models, I'd say there probably was at least some influence.
RevMike June 13th, 2012, 02:30 PM The have a couple of those at J&R, near me. Really sweet lookin' guitars. Not my thing, but still neat.
src9000 June 13th, 2012, 02:49 PM Man, did that look and sound great! I want one.
vespa1 June 13th, 2012, 03:55 PM I have the black one. I put some 11s on it as the stock 10s were too flimsy and jumped the bridge. I also had to bend the trem arm as it was completely straight, and unusable. Now the thinline Jag plays like a dream. The neck is a bit chunkier than an AVRI Jag. Cosmetically the only thing that I will change is that I will eventually put on a tort pickguard.
Matthias June 13th, 2012, 07:12 PM Wow. That's such a loveable guitar, and I've NEVER used that word to describe a guitar before. Loads of character and a really individual sound (although that could have been the guy's finger-picking style, wah pedal, reverb and capo use :/ ).
Mekhem June 13th, 2012, 09:16 PM I would be really into these.... if they had the body contours.
I think that the contours on the Jag/Jazzy are what make them so comfortable to play
Chautauqua June 16th, 2012, 03:46 AM That's just plain GORGEOUS... The binding really does it for me (on the back one) and takes an already cool guitar over the top.
