Coil tap issue on 2010 Tele FMT

I have a 2010 FMT HH (see my avatar) that has a coil-split on the tone knob so I get the traditional Tele sound in addition to the humbuckers. However, the sound from my amp gets very loud with full humbuckers on, even though the tone sounds nice. If I coil-split, my sound gets at least 25% quieter, and a lot of tone is lost as a result.

I tried using various compressor settings in my Digitech RP255 (it actually sounds amazing if you leave its EQ off and let the amp do its thing!). However, the compressor takes away from my tone, even though it keeps volume well under control. Is there some other way I could keep the humbucker and single coil volume the same without sacrificing tone? Thanks!
