Where are you guys finding Finesse It? I've been to 3 auto parts stores so far and I'm striking out. Maybe I'll have to order online?

You can't find it in regular auto parts stores because it's considered a "professional product". Are there any automotive paint supply stores near you? They should carry the entire line of 3m professional products. However, don't get hung up on the stuff, there are plenty of other rubbing compounds which will work just as well. Heck, I get the cheapest stuff I can find (Turtle Wax rubbing compound) & I've never had a problem. If you are finishing in nitrocellulose, just make sure whatever you go with is silicone-free.

Ah, that explains it. Thanks Bob. I'll be using it on Tru Oil. Does that make a difference? I had read of a lot of folks using Fineese It with Tru Oil so that's why I was looking for it. If I can use something else on tru oil I can do that. I saw a lot of Meguiars when I was out there looking. I do have a some auto paint store nearby too.

Last time I bought a bottle of it I found it at Pep Boys.

You should be fine using just about any rubbing compound on tru-oil. I've used my cheap stuff to polish the headstock on a neck that I tru-oiled. It came out fine.

Google ye "automotive detailing" unlikely to find pro car polishes at high street car parts retail stores. Most towns do have a car paints place that supplies local body shops, usually hidden away in an industrial unit.
Also seek "Menzerna", "Farecla" and "Britemax" makes.
