Convertible Hipshot

I've had this Hipshot for several years, picked it up on Ebay. I've got the two Evans Pull Strings  so I haven't had it on a guitar for awhile. Anyway, I had forgotten that this one came to me with a short "whammy" type bar that could be used instead of the "hip" bar. There is a long hex nut threaded on the bar, and it just slides into the lever from the top side. Tighten it down and it works just like a palm bar or pedal. Short enough that it doesn't get in the way of your picking hand. Anyone else ever do this? I don't recall seeing this before. Anyway, the thing is now on Ebay, as I'm trying to clear a few things out (shameless plug).

The palm lever is shown in the picture below the Hipshot. Should have taken a shot while it was on the guitar:oops:

I did that shortly after I'd gotten my 1st HipShot in the early eighties. I'd always played Bigsby Palm Pedals so I was used to that action. What I did was look around in my garage tool box for a hex wrench that was the same size as the HipShot lever and slid the short side into the top side of the hole and tightened it down. It worked great and I even used it for awhile after I'd added the G palm lever. It one point I even tried making it more "flat" by grinding it down and beating it with a hammer. I eventually just started using it with the regular lever.........JH in VA.
