The switch is lame. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I've googled around and found plenty of demo vids and ebay stuff, but no parts. I even read a thread about em here, from 2005.
But No Parts.
I found the schematic thinking I could get the part number but it just has a symbol with "normal/effect", no number.

Could this Switch maybe be it:

Should I even try to replace this myself. I trashed an old EQ recently trying to put a switch and power jack on it. Smoked it.
I'm pretty handy though, done a lot of computer building, but not much soldering. Make my own chords and such though.
Anyway, where can I get a replacement switch? and maybe a set of instructions.
schenkadere June 11th, 2012, 09:31 PM That's a great chorus...probably my all time favorite...good luck repairing it!
Ringo June 11th, 2012, 10:07 PM Just a thought, I had a TS10 Tube Screamer which has the same switch , I was able to carefully remove the switch and take it apart and clean it, it worked for many more years until I sold it.
I'm sure someone here has replaced one of the 10 series Ibanez switches though, and can point you in the right direction.
My buddy has a whole set of the Ibanez 10 series pedals including that chorus, good stuff!
-=solewheelin June 11th, 2012, 10:39 PM Yeah thats an easy fix.
Unclip the battery holder, find the tiny slack button switch
Put a drip of deoxit, (or even WD40 worked for me in a pinch)
into that and press it like 50x.
Always worked grreat for me.
IIRC, i'm pretty sure they are the same switches as those used for boss pedals.
But don't bother removing it unless its broken (which yours is not)
and unless you know how to solder well.
OlRedNeckHippy June 12th, 2012, 08:20 AM Solewheelin, thanks man. Just to clarify -
- Deoxit? That I don't have (what is it?), but I do have WD40.
- The switch is basicly hollow. Drop the WD40 right down the shaft? Like one drop off a tooth pick or something?
- And most importantly - What does IIRC mean?
Yea guys, apparently this chorus is highly coveted. I've seen them on eBay for up to $180. Wow. I gave a guy $40 for this one....
Paul in Colorado June 12th, 2012, 01:03 PM I believe Small Bear Electronics has replacement switches for those pedals. But spray a little contact cleaner into it and push it in a bunch of times first. It may just solve the problem.

IIRC means If I recall correctly.
Deoxit is a spray cleaner for any metal conductors, pots, switches, etc.
Yeah no toothpick needed. WD40 will work for this repair.
Like Paul said, you can put a short squirt right into where the tiny button presses in and press it somewhat vigorously 40 to 50 times. Repeat.
I like to hold the pedal upside down while pressing/cleaning it, then clean the button part with a q-tip.
OlRedNeckHippy June 13th, 2012, 08:29 AM OK. Thanks again.
I googled Deoxit and my local Radio Shack has it. Kinda pricey though.
Hopefully, I'll get around to givin it a squirt this evening.
OlRedNeckHippy June 13th, 2012, 09:51 PM Worked like a charm! 1 shot of WD40, pushed the button 50 times (while holding it upside down and a paper towel), and it's working perfectly!
Thanks Fellas!
Paul in Colorado June 14th, 2012, 12:16 AM Glad it worked for you! However I still recommend that you buy a can of Deoxit. It has a gazillion uses and is safer for electronics then WD-40.
OlRedNeckHippy June 14th, 2012, 08:17 AM Will do Paul. Next time I'm over by Radio Shack I will definately get a can. Thanks again.
