I gotta throw Linda Ronstadt in the mix. Probably not considered a classic country singer, but she can do classic country as good as anyone and better than most. She has covered Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and others. Team her up with Emmy Lou, and you've got pure classic country.
