After an 8 month wait,I got my beloved 1943 J45 back from the Luthier. Rocco at Mandolin Bros. on Staten Island did a phenomenal job of bringing this guitar back from the edge.Fixed a couple of small cracks, new bridge plate, reglued nearly every brace on the top and several on the back, new bridge plate,(replacing the giant plywood one someone put in years ago)neck reset and refret. Also got the top nearly perfectly flat from it's previously quite curvy condition. This is the definitoin of a "Baseball Bat Neck".1 13/16" wide at the nut,2 5/32 at the 12th fret. 1 3/64 thick at the nut and 1 3/16at the 12th fret.Beefy. The sound of this guitar is everything you have heard about Banner Era Gibsons.Full, deep and rich. Also very loud,a real cannon.
anyway,enjoy the pictures!

Great restoration story and beautiful guitar. It must have been tough to wait an entire month - I've been there.

That's a stunning guitar. I'm glad it's home with you.

Can you post photos of the back of the headstock and the back of the body?

Beauty!
