Vox Style Trem.....

I have been fortunate enough to have both an AC15 and DRRI. The Fender is my main live rig, the Vox has been living at my studio as my go to crank it up amp. Sadly, I have to sell the Vox for money reasons.

Obviously I will miss that Vox crunch on records, but happily since I got it, 3 of my friends fell in love with it an bought their own haha. So if I NEED that sound I can borrow one.

The thing I really can't lose is the trem on the Vox. The Fender is choppy, I believe optical is the style? The Vox is really smooth and warm, and with reverb it creates a great smoky texture. Tube trem?

Most trem pedals I've played sound more like my Fender, does anyone have any experience with one that sounds more like a Vox? I don't like a ton of knobs and switches, if that means anything to your suggestions.....

If you like the Vox so much, maybe trade the DRRI for an AC30?

That will always be an option going forward, and actually what I hope to do is just get a 30 (or another 15) when life permits haha. But the relationship between my Fender and my pedals for my live setup is nothing I want to mess with. Using an AC30 in place of the Fender will change how my drive pedals respond, the eq of the amp is very different, and I find the Fender just takes a wider range of dirt pedals.

I like the vox stuff with nothing more than my RC booster in front of it, everything else I do with the volume and tone on the guitar.

The fender is for my rc, od, fuzz, phase, delay etc.....

Hence its easier for me to just get a trem pedal if I want it!

See if you can dig up one of these:

To me, the Voodoo Lab Tremolo gets similar tones. I'm also a fan of the CMATMODS Tremoglo, and on a budget the Garagetone Tremolo does well too.

Yeah, I've heard good things about the Voodoo Lab trem.

That Vox pedal looks awesome!

Voodoo Lab tremolo is always going to be my first choice. But if you really are going for the tremolo sound of Vox AC30 I would suggest looking at the EH Wiggler the acey setting.
