I bought this on vinyl. Produced by Leon Russell for Shelter Records in '72.
The first side features the rhythm section of Derek & the Dominoes. The sec-
ond side has the late, great Duck Dunn & Al Jackson,Jr. A great bluesman at the
height of his powers. R.I.P.

One of my favorite blues albums! I have it on both vinyl and CD.

I was fortunate enough to see him in Oslo in the early 70's ... Best blues concert I've been to - and I've seen both B.B., Albert King and T-Bone Walker.

The word cannonball to me harkens back to the early 20th century where the train was the fastest mode of transportation. The "cannonball" was the fastest train pulled by the newest, most powerful engine-it was the pride of the company. Imagine walking along the tracks at midnight in rural America during the 1930's and having one roar by you. That's my image of Freddie King onstage-big man, big sound, unstoppable.

I had never heard of him until about 10 years ago.

Like a bolt of lightning!
Lotta respect for how that man played guitar!

I've got the Just Picking cd.

It's a combo cd of 2 "records", one with a LP w/P90 and the other the ES w/HBs.

Prefer his old stuff with the P90s.
