Epi Les Paul Traditional Pro...Think I Have GAS

I tried out a new LP Tradional Pro in Wine Red at GC a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed. First off, the humbuckers are very clean and clear sounding. None of that typical Epi humbucker mushiness. And, both pickups are coil tapped, giving the player a pretty nice Strat-like sound if you want it. The playbility was good, the quality very good, and it stayed in tune nicely after some bashing and serious bending. It also has that nice Jeff Beck Oxblood LP look going on, which I like. I think it would be a good gigging guitar. GC has a few used ones for sale right now.

Does anybody out there have one or played one, and if so, what do you think?

Is it me or is Epiphone putting out some good stuff lately? I recently got an Epiphone Dot that is awesome.

I haven't played that model but I have 3 of their standards. Well, 2 and the '56 goldtop. Older models but very nice playing instruments. I had to swap the pickups out on the standards and have a simple setup done on them. Epiphone makes nice LP's. I've had one for nearly 12 years without any issues at all. Again, not the model your looking at but the quality is there in the instruments they sell.

They are putting out some nice stuff now, in fact, the quality seems to have taken a quantum leap in the last year. They're releasing a whole series of Gretsch inspired guitars soon in black with silver sparkle binding, including the Swingster, the Riviera, the Dot, the Les Paul, the Wild Kat and the Casino. You have to see these. They look killer.

Yes, I did too. Same make and similar model I guess. An Epiphone Dot. I can't believe the quality of the Dot I picked up. I really think they're doing something right.

Epiphone has some amazing guitars that beat even some Gibsons I've played. I recently bought a Epi Les Paul Special II, spur of the moment from a guitar shop, because I had been wanting one since all my other guitars are fenders except for two. Well, I played it before buying and I was so surprised at how well it played. The humbuckers sound great and the rosewood fretboard is nice and fast, particularly for my style as I play rock and metal types of music. I posted a vid on this guitar a few minutes ago if anyone's interested. I highly recommend Epiphones. They are amazing guitars for the price, and high quality (most of them) almost as much as Gibsons nowadays.
