I like .11s on Gibby short scale. Will .10s on my tele feel like .11s do on my Sheraton? I am playing .11s now on my tele but they give me a little more resistance than I like.

Think yes. I use .011" on Les Paul and same scale semi hollow.
but use .010" on all 4 Teles for the tension but also for
sound characteristic + staying in tune well.

I used 8's on a tele once, good for index finger bends but they were too light, went to stock 9's better but, went to 10's okay... tried 11's with a wound G.... fantastic! If you're the rythmn player.

I would suggest 9's if that was the out of box string for your guitar as it is set up for that and you are a picker. Maybe a 10, but that would be a tactile preference.

However, I have heard that 10's are consistent across the spectrum of brands and specs.

What a great non-answer.

I'm not 100% on the physics behind it, but ...

the tension of the string at frequency is determined by scale length and string gauge (linear density, so materials, too). Higher length = more tension for the same note, same for gauge.

For the same gauge of strings, tension increases with the square of the scale length. For the difference in 25.5" to 24.75", this is about (25.5 / 24.75)^2 = 1.06152433 or a 6% difference.

But another thing that really matters is the feel of the strings while bending. When bending you're affecting the whole string system, not just thinking of an imaginary string that runs from two points like in my previous paragraph. The portion of the string before the nut and after the saddles has an effect. Les Pauls have very different length of string before the nut and between bridge and tailpiece, and different break angles at bridge and nut from a Telecaster, and both of those are different from on a hollowbody. So they feel different when bending. So the strings on your tele are not going to feel the same as the strings on your Sheraton...

This also applies to picking since your pick is bending the string a bit to get it started.

That said, I like .10's on my Teles. Good day
