Another cheap player axe that I got the other day when I got the Squier Bullet.
It needed a little TLC, cleaned it up, cleaned and lubed the pots and switches, installed a new output jack, new strings and it's ready to play.

It looks great , the neck feels good, the pickups sound great, PAF style , has a phase switch so you can get the Peter Green tone too.

cool score and nice copy. didn't expect to see sunburst on the back...usually they are solid. what year do you think it was made?

I don't know for sure, the guy I got it from said it was from the 80s and that seems right.
It was fairly cheap.

one of my cousin's first guitars was an ugly burnt orange looking lotus Les Paul and i have no memory of how it played but i kinda wish i had bought it off of him when he sold it just for the ugly(and therefore somewhat cool) factor. yours looks much better and the phase switch is definitely a cool feature

Where I grew up, the only music store we had sold either Hondos or Lotuses. My first guitar was either gonna be one just like yours, or a Hondo. (This was 83-84 so that may tell you a rough age) I ended up with the Hondo only because they had those in Candy Apple Red and all the Lotuses looked like yours. Sparkle wins! Anyway I remember them both playing about the same, nice enough guitars for what they are. (My Hondo was plywood and most of the Lotus' finishes were trans enough to see the ply layers on the sides. I know both brands had solid ones too though)
I paid $165 for mine new, and the Lotuses didn't cost much different.
Cool looking axe, enjoy it!
