Lil 59 users...what pots do you use?

SD recommends sticking with the 250K, but I've heard lots of people jumping to 500K. I'm just curious what others have done.

I'm using a STR-1 for the neck and I'm not sure how 500k pot would work with it any way.

W a 500 you can reach the spot were the '59 comes alive and sees the load it "wants". About 300-400K. Better, fuller bass; all the highs w-out harshness. But above that, the highs are artificially bright. Same is true for the N p/up, at a lower R , but still more than 250K. So if you don't mind turning down for best tone w each p/up, a 500K pot gives better sonic transfer. A 250K pot is close enough for most people, and if you don't want to fiddle, its fine.

Thanks. I will probably just stick with the 250K then.

Yep.
Also, remember, some say 60's wiring on P90, helps get the bright back into
the neck.
just IMHO
