I'm not a bass player, but I thought it might be good to have one around for emergencies. I spotted a clearance on this bass at one of the local big box stores. It was marked at $240, but because of some serious finish problems, there are several cracks on both the back and front of the body, I got it for $200. Other than the cracks, it's in terrific shape and the cracks are pretty hard to see and even harder to photograph.

I think it's an OK deal, it plays pretty well, but I'm going to do a set up on it tomorrow and it will play great then (working in a music store has its advantages). I'll probably remove the "tug bar" and bridge cover and put new strings on it, too.

My first bass:

That's identical to my son's bass. They're cool. I actually came into the Bass Place to ask advice on improving it.

I thought we did great getting it for $275. You got a smokin' deal.

I got the same bass last year but in Fiesta Red instead of Sonic Blue. I'm not a bass player either per se, but I love it.
