Turnercaster June 8th, 2012, 11:01 PM I recently changed the wiring on my 50's Esquire from volume and tone only to the cocked wah (Eldred mod) wiring using both .47 and .0047 capacitors. After a few days I realized I didn't like this arrangement and changed it back to the volume/tone only.
Anyone else out there feel the same?
TeleTim911 June 8th, 2012, 11:07 PM I think the sound has the proper place, but like any effect, in moderation.

Tele-phone man June 9th, 2012, 10:10 AM I've never been a fan of that sound.
telequacktastic June 9th, 2012, 10:22 AM I don't know if I'd ever use it in a band onstage
phdinfunk June 9th, 2012, 11:24 AM If I could mix it in parallel, or better yet change the Q of the filter or the boost/cut, I would probably use it more. But then it would just be a parametric EQ.... which is of course, very useful.

bargoedboy June 9th, 2012, 11:32 AM Can the frequency be raised or lowered via different value resistor and cap arrangement ?
garrett June 12th, 2012, 04:01 PM Can the frequency be raised or lowered via different value resistor and cap arrangement ?
Yes. The smaller the cap value, the smaller the mid hump. I personally like a 2 nf so it's less stuck wah and more humbucker.
