Tonetech nut files

Someone posted a question about these the other week. Just to say that I bought some and they are fine.

I have nothing to compare them with as they're the only ones I've ever used. But they do the job in seconds and it doesn't look as though a Jack Russell has been chewing the guitar. So I'm happy - although I probably made the common beginner's mistake of over-filing a tad.

Trouble is, now I've invested all that money in nut files, I'll need to build some more guitars to make it worthwhile . . .

Having just splashed out on a new Router (a decent one this time!) I know how you feel. Glad to hear the nut files worked out, spent a while browsing their site but haven't bought anything from them...yet.

the "tonetech" nut files are good, proper and professional. they will last nearly forever and most important, they will do a righteous job of cutting good nut slots.

Hi Rob, what files would you recommend to tweak the nut slots on a new neck that already has a slotted nut (but the slots are a little high). Thanks! denny

Thanks Rob. Do you use a .016 file to tweak the slot on the high E (for 10 to 11 string gauges)?

And can you recommend where to buy the files you listed above? Thanks again!

And thanks to Hemingway for starting this thread and getting me thinking and asking questions.

Are these they?

And are they the same as the Hiroshima nut files aka industrial microsaws? (I call them that because they are mainly used by toolmakers and jewellers)

I was wondering too - are the files you have the set of 10 in jefrs' link or the set of 3 double-sided Hosco files?
(These ones - http://www.tonetechluthiersupplies.co.uk/luthier-tools/nut-and-saddle-tools/nut-files-set-of-3-electric.html )
