Danelectro 59-DC Jimmy Page Bridge Upgrade

Has anyone upgraded their Dan-o 59DC to a Leo Quan style bridge a-la Jimmy Page? I'm wondering if there is enough solid wood under the Masonite top for the bridge stud anchors to mount into. Have any of you seen one with the top removed? Thanks!

This guy built one. Here's what it looks like.

Muchas gracias, amigos! Hey Schaapie, did you install that bridge yourself?

I didn't. You can do it. There's enough wood under there, but it has to be routed.

You can also put a cutoff Tele bridge on there. I saw some pix on the net of a guy who actually turned down some rosewood to make the barrells (instead of the metal ones they usually have) but dang if I can find the pix now.

Thanks Schaapie. I'm not sure what part would need to be routed. Doesn't routing usually remove wood? I like the cutoff Tele bridge idea, dannew02. Maybe a hard tail Strat bridge would work also. Kek! Thanks for the photo. That's definitely helpful if the builder followed the original spec. I was going to sell my original re-issue 59-DC but now I'm thinking about mods instead. Cheers! Greg
