Neck pickup Sounds very metallic

Ive recently put a twisted tele pu in, wired it with a 4-way but the pickup sounds like metal. Did I wire it wrong or is this just how they sound? Other than that it sounds great!! Please help

Tons of people read this forum, so I suspect that no one knows the answer. I've never heard a pickup problem described like this.

If you wired in a 4 way then what used to be the neck position on the switch will now be the 2 pickups in series and the one alongside will be neck only.... So maybe the problem is that in series you may need to disconnect the chrome cover from the black ground wire underneath the pickup. You can de-solder it or if confident just clip the little metal bit off, thus separating it from ground.

Ok so, long overdue update... Turns out the switch was just wired backwards. After about 30-45 min or so of desoldering, cleaning, rearranging, and rewiring my telecaster now sounds GREAT! Thanks for all your help guys
