Anyone using SX Tele at church?

Anyone using SX Tele at church? Do you mod it or use it stock? Do you have some modifications that lead you to use it as your main guitar?

I used a Douglas this past Sunday. It's the Gravity model with two P90s. Sounded great. I have an SX Callista which I used for rehearsal but not for the service. I auditioned for the team with a Xaviere thinline. I leave all my cheap guitars stock. If it sounds good to you, use it. If you want to mod it, mod it. It's none of anybody else's business.

Yes, I use an SX. I installed a pair of GFS alnico pickups and did the "Fezz Parka" wiring. It's a fantastic Tele for under two Benjamins. But it is not my "main" guitar. Just the one I use when I need a Tele.

jbmando: yeah i know..if it is good stock then why bother with it right?It always just your own personal preference when it comes to guitar tone. Does the the xaviere thinline have any similarities to a sx thinline?

My main guitar at the moment is a HH Tele with GFS Retrotrons. It's a poor man's "La Cabronita" Tele. The electrical power at my church is very bad and I have to play with humbucker guitars.

If you search the forum for "Fezz Parka Mod" you will find the wiring diagram for Telecasters. It gives better tone control to the guitar.

The Orange tint on SX Tele's does not wear off. It is pretty dark, almost burnt looking. The face of the headstock is especially dark. The SX is a great basic Tele and I like the fat neck it has.

The Xaviere is MUCH lighter than the Douglas. I don't have an SX thinline to compare it to.
