Any MIM Strat Changes Since 2006?

Looking at a used 2006 MIM Strat... I've heard that there were some changes made that year, like ceramic pups. Have there been any changes in more recent years that are better than the 2006 version? I'm not opposed to dropping the $449 on a new one if necessary, but if the 2006 is the same as the new ones, I'd rather save the $$$. Thanks.

Yes. The maple boards are now gloss (I have a tought time telling the difference between the neck on mine and the neck on a MIA I regularly play in the store), the electronics (pots, etc.) are now the same as on MIAs, the QC has improved (my 2011 is far better than my previous 2010 was), and a couple of other things that I cannot remember off hand. Perhaps you should pop over to Strat Talk and post the question there as you'll get the answers in seconds.

Shielding in the control cavity (paint with a screw and ring term) I believe started in 07.

Thanks for the input. Went to see the 2006 MIM Strat, but ended up with a new (2011) FSR Strat from GC. So far, so good, but regardless of the switch position, when I play it sounds like a cat on fire, same as when I play the Tele. Hmmm, maybe it's me?

don't forget about the screws next to the pickup, you need to try different heights !
