A/Y Solution??

I've been on the market for a good a/b/y type pedal, but don't have the funds to get one right now. I want to run my Champ with my Bassman and have been running them together, but that's not good for every situation and I don't like fooling with them during shows. So here is my current rig... do you all see any issues with this as a short term solution?.....

I use a Visual Volume pedal and I run a cable out of "out 2" into an od pedal and then to the Champ. The trick is that I use a Visual Sound Open Road pedal with the gain and volume all the way down, so when its on, it cuts the signal to the Champ. When I step on it the Champ kicks on. The "out 1" goes to the Bassman, so it's my "always on" amp. The volume and od both have good buffers, so my signal seems strong. It seems to work fine, but it's not ideal.

Any issues with this?

Does it work as described? If no, then nope, nothing wrong with it.

There's nothing wrong with figuring out a solution to a problem WITHOUT buying a new pedal for it. Good work, way to accomplish the desired effect using the tools you have.
