Spray paint probably wouldn't stick that well to a smooth, shiny surface like that. If you really want to paint them, you could bead blast the part first to knock of the shine. Then use a type of paint specifically designed for use on high-wear areas, like Duracoat or Cerakote.

Realistically, the easiest way would be to find an online store based in Europe or America and get them to ship the knobs to you.

I had no trouble finding black tele knobs on-line. There are a number of sellers, including via e-bay. Just search for Black Telecaster Knobs and you should find quite a few options.

I have black knobs topped with natural abalone on my kit tele - they look great !

Take your chrome knobs off & heat 'em up with a propane torch-you can get several different colors, dark blue/black to straw/yellow depending on how hot you get them.
