im working on a 58 supro super-
single bridge pup, with the six polepieces.
the two outermost polepieces are the pup height adjustment screws.
on mine, the two adjustment screws are stripped-
and not just the philips slot, but the heads are destroyed from somebody using vice grips or pliers or something on them.
what id like to do is replace those 2 screws.
i could cut a slot in the existing ones for adjustment, but id much rather replace them.
the screws go through the pickup, through a little clip, then there are 2 nuts locked against each other.
the rest of the screw threads into the body of the guitar.
with the pup removed, it seems there is maybe a 16th of an inch of play in those screws, they move up and down freely, so im thinking they arent contacting any of the coil, and can be removed and replaced without killing the pickup.
(works fine right now).
ive got time, so i figured it couldnt hurt to enquire here before i do anything.
thanks for any opinions or experiences anyone may have!
