Anyone ever build a Dr. Boogey or similar? [Archive]

Been thinking I might want to build a high gain pedal and the Dr. Boogey types look and sound like they might fit the bill. Anyone try one? I am a little concerned that it may sound too nasal. I want something with some girthy thunderous chunk.
