Hello everyone,
I have been reading from the outside, without an account, for quite a while now and this is my first post. I am working on a squire affinity telecaster, butterscotch blonde, upgrade project. I got this guitar online for cheap and started to tear it apart md found out that it has been upgraded a bit already. This leads to my two questions. I want to upgrade the bridge to a vintage ashtray style bridge but would love to have brass saddles. I have had a very hard time finding top loading bridges, modern or vintage with 6 brass saddles. I really don't want the possible intonation problems with the three saddles bridges but I want to have the warm tone of brass saddles. Are there any bridges and saddles any of you could recommend or is there a problem with this combo that I don't know about.

My second question is about identifying markers on pickups. When I tore my guitar apart I noticed the bridge had a brass base plate and had a piece of masking tape on it the said 7.4 k. The pickups don't sound like standard affinity tele pups. Is there any way to tell model on a pickup as I didn't see a model or make on the pickup.

Thanks a lot in advance for your expertise.

Have you thought about one of these?

Wilkinson vintage compensated.

It doesn't have 6 saddles, but the three it has are compensated to help intonation. It will work for top loading or string through.

Sounds like whoever put the PU in checked the resistance with a meter. Pictures might help.

Welcome neighbor

I use the 3 brass saddle Wilkinson compensated bridge. It loads both string through and top load. They are about $18 at azguitarparts.com
