Body Blanks

I'm going to be heading to the Maryland and Pennsylvania area on vacation the 2nd week of July. Mainly will be around Columbia MD and southern PA, but we may head over to West Virginia for a couple of days.

I was wondering of any folks who live up that way know of any good lumber yards to go to get some body blank material. Any places that ya'll use?

I just pick from my own stash since I harvest my own wood.
I am in Lancaster county . PM me if you feel like dropping by . You just might find something here in a non traditional wood/s way .
If you are looking for ash or alder , I can't help you .
Of course , there is Hearne Hardwoods in Oxford if you want to visit a lumber yard that sounds like what you are looking for .
I have never been there even though they are about 25 miles from me .

the quality and price might fall outside the range of "blanks", but the next time i go through PA i'm going to have to stop at talarico hardwood (http://www.talaricohardwoods.com/index.html)in Mohnton, 19540. it's about 2 hours north columbia, MD, so i'm not sure if it's in the area you are traveling through... but just go look at the website, the woodporn pages in particular. the site states they have supplied wood for limited edition martins, so they must have experience dealing with luthiers.

They changed hands this past year. They have quite an inventory of different things.

DeP ,
Why you heading to Columbia?? Is it your old stomping grounds? I grew up there.
You could always try to Dumpster dive at the PRS Plant on Kent Island........

No MrC, my sister-in-law lives there. We are going up on vacation. I was born and raised in St Augustine, Fl.

I'll have to check into the dumpster diving...lol.
