My first build is ready to be finished. I am going for a tv white style appearance. I don't want to shoot, and have had great success with tru oil on a neck. I intend to use minwax white pickling stain for the color. My question is regarding the grain filler. I have seen timbermate, but I would have to mail order it. Colt and others have used spackle with good results. Do you think this would work under stain and tru oil? Also, can I apply in this order filler, stain, oil?

Here's a pic of the body ready for 320 sanding and finish.

That looks killer man. You're of to a great start if thats your first build. I'm debating doing the exact same thing only with a double cutaway. Sorry I can't answer your question. I personally wouldn't use any filler, the grain looks awesome. Definitely post more pics once its completed.
