Check out this site. The guy who runs this is a really good player and he has some free videos that you can access and his instructional DVD's are really good.
No, I don't work for him. I found him about 5 years ago, and I try to take in as many different influences as possible.
Anyway, go to : http://www.sizzlingguitarlicks.com/
There are free vids that deal with tone, technique, double and triple stops, etc.
BTW, his wife just had his 2nd child. Doug is just a really nice humble guy who wants to help players in the genre.

I think that the basic sequence is thumb-middle-thumb-ring.
Check out this video.

I'd already found this video. However, Brents a great player; but a terrible teacher - he mumbles through etc etc and does'nt make things very clear.
- hence my question

I've got the Hotlicks video he made and he does suck as a teacher.
It's pretty hard to get much out of it quickly unless you are at a certain level of skill.
That video sat around my house for 2 years before I started really learning from it.
Now I sswm to pick up a little something every time I turn it on. He's a brilliant player, just brilliant, but a little pretentious as a helping hand for players. What I mean by pretentious is he's lost the ability to relate to lower level players. Or, he simply doesn't choose to, I can't be sure. But to really ascertain much from his video, or from him as a player, you need to be able to understand some theory.
